Dr Carmen Steiniger
Dr Carmen Steiniger founded the Patent Attorney Office in December 2007.
Dr Steiniger studied Microelectronics at Chemnitz University of Technology and received her PhD for her doctoral thesis pH sensors based on ion-sensitive field effect transistors. Subsequently, she participated in various research projects such as the development of acceleration sensors and micro-mirror arrays at the Center for Microtechnologies at Chemnitz UT.
Starting January 2001, Dr Steiniger was employed in Munich as a Patent Attorney Candidate in a well-established, globally operating Patent Attorney and Lawyer’s Office.
Parallel to her work in Munich, Dr Steiniger completed an Open University degree in “Law for Patent Attorneys” at the FernUniversität Hagen. She also worked as a Trainee Patent Attorney at the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Patents Court and the Patent Litigation Chamber at the Higher Regional Court in Munich.
Dr Carmen Steiniger has been a Patent Attorney since March 2004 and is an accredited legal representative for trademarks and registered designs at the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market based in Alicante. Since 2006, Dr Steiniger has hold the power of representation as an European Patent Attorney before the European Patent Office.
On account of her studies in the field of Electrical Engineering, her subsequent engineering career in the Microelectronics and Micromechanics sectors as well as her training as a patent attorney with emphasis on Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Dr Steiniger covers an extensive range of both technical fields and industrial property rights employing her technical background knowledge. Her current work focuses on the textile and automotive industry, mechanical engineering, tool and die making, solar cell manufacturing, micromechanics, bulk material handling and recycling technology as well as trademark and licence law.
In addition, Dr Steiniger is a Member of the Board of the Federal Association of German Patent Attorneys.
